Mister Fix-it - What I can do for you
The type of work i regularly cover is flat pack assembly (fitting together inside lounge, & bedroom furniture to less demanding outside projects such as sheds, bar-b-ques and a child's trampoline), Laying concrete level flooring or slabs to accommodate a new or existing shed.
Plumbing - Fixing leaks, fixing & replacing WC's, taps and bathroom fittings, etc
Common faults; Fixing minor or major leaks in copper piping following the hard Autumn/Winter months arising from frost damage, and a lack of protection to external bib/garden taps. House leaks normally exist in bathroom and kitchen taps due to worn out washers and partly due to our hard water area.
Tip:
If you cannot isolate the water leak locally, i.e. by the nearest appliance or water outlet, turn off your main stop-tap "stopcock" usually located under the kitchen sink.
However if your "stopcock has seized, then you can turn the water off at your roadside, look for a metal or plastic flap on the path, saying Water"
If in any doubt, please call for free advice! Long term damage can be avoided if acted upon quickly.
It is advisable to look for your stoptap, & test it before needing it in an emergency!

Includes installing new Television points, free advice on AV equipment, topically getting ready for the "Digital switch-over". Setting up of large LCD, Plasma, back projection TVs. installation & guidance regarding Satellite & Freeview boxes, DVD, PVR & VCR recorders, game consoles.
Maintenance on existing electric sockets, additional outlets, light fittings, halogen bulb changing if necessary.

Shown to your left is the before picture of a dated bathroom floor, and to the right shows the finished article, after the existing floor was taken up, disinfected and sanded down & the wooden floor boards beneath restored, filling visible cracks & holes.
The bath panels and all skirting boards were stripped down, restoring its smooth wooden grain, initially primed, undercoated twice, then finished with a white bathroom purpose water resistant paint.
Good quality work takes time, resulting in a finish that will last and stay fresh for years to come. Future surfaces can be wiped down of moisture removing the risk of mildew forming.
The floor is mock laminate effect and is actually length sized vinyl self adhesive tiles, although additional adhesive was used and is highly recommended when laying floor tiles.
